Houston Proud supports and is not connected
with Volunteer Houston
The name HoustonProud.org was owned by the Houston Proud
Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization, which ceased operations more than 10
years ago, making the name, logo and URL essentially public domain. Currently a speculator is
claiming ownership of HoustonProud.org for reasons unknown to us. At this time we are
seeking to identify
said speculator to determine if ownership was obtained legally or if the current owner was
a former staff member or volunteer of the organization and would have been prohibited
from obtaining ownership. The domain name Houston-Proud.org has been registered
in the meantime.
