BOB LEMER-Mr. Lemer is Chairman of the bipartisan Citizens For Public Accountability ("CPA"). CPA was founded in 2001 by five retired partners of some of Houston's international and local accounting firms. The organization will be expanded soon to include other retired partners. CPA is not a PAC, its primary purpose is to make available to Houston area voters, in a bipartisan manner, pertinent financial information underlying selected local ballot issues. Mr. Lemer is a retired partner of the international accounting firm of Ernst & Young LLP, where, in addition to serving clients in many other industries, he headed the firm's Houston area services to over 100 governmental and not-for-profit clients for over a quarter-century. Mr. Lemer served on the national health care committee of Ernst & Young, the world's largest provider of auditing and consulting services to the health care industry. In the 1980s, he was on the Houston City Budget Committee of the Houston Chamber of Commerce (replaced by the Greater Houston Partnership). Mr. Lemer has performed extensive research over the last several years regarding the financial and operational performance of Texas and local governments, particularly in the Harris County area.
