Rev. Rosemary Behrens

Currently the Pastor of Golden Acres United Methodist Church and the Executive Director of Women Achieving Independence & Financial Success, a not-for-profit organization founded to help women help themselves.

Rev. Behrens is a native Houstonian, growing up in southeast Houston and now loving being back in the city of her birth.

Rev. Behrens holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from Texas AM University.   After spending two years in the market research field and eight years in retail, Rosemary answered the call to the ministry and completed her Master's of Divinity at Brite Divinity School, at TCU.  She has been employed by the United Methodist Church in ministry since 1995.

Women Achieving Independence & Financial Success, WAIFS, was founded in December of 1998 to provide assistance to women who simply need guidance to realize their true potential.  The purpose of this program, in her own words, is "to give women the skills they need to succeed, beginning with self-esteem and self-confidence."  Rev. Behrens believes that a person who is full of confidence and has a high opinion of their own worth can accomplish any goals they set for themselves.

Rev. Behrens is also Past Chairman of Services Cooperative Association.  And while balancing her duties with the church, WAIFS, Womens Business Center and Services Cooperative Association can at times be challenging, she is thrilled to be truly utilizing both her degrees.
