Bill Leoniy knows how to build a great self-directed, empowered organization that visitors will drive hours to feel a part of.  He has been part of the team that has built world-class manufacturing organizations from the ground up and has optimized their financial and functional performance.

With over 30 years experience in a variety of business operations and organizational improvement roles in ConocoPhillips (Conoco) and DuPont, his focus in early years was on demonstrating functional process management capability and implementing process improvements for cost savings and capacity increases builds on a BS in Chemical Engineering (Princeton University). After operations management, a phase of broader business process understanding developed from roles in transportation, purchasing, technical service, and sales. When then returning to an operations management role, he began to appreciate the significant business improvement obtainable via business process standardization and quality management systems in ISO 9001. His improvement toolbox grew significantly with a certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Six Sigma Academy) and Lean Manufacturing qualification.

The opportunity to learn and experience organizational systems thinking while simultaneously creating a registered quality system enabled a shift to leading organizations by creating a developmental environment with an engaged production focus from that of tightly managing groups with a goal of compliance to stated policies and practices.  The first success of this shift was at his last manufacturing plant assignment in DuPont. Upon moving to Conoco, he has been a leader of the teams that built self-directed, empowered manufacturing organizations from the ground up and has guided the development and optimization of those businesses and world-class functional performance. The respect and value for individuals and their work, in an environment of shared ownership and accountability for work product meeting the defined business purpose and stakeholder value are principal value drivers in the success of this work. Having grown in leadership knowledge and skill via heavy study and active effort in leadership roles continuously supported by on-the-job coaching provide the experiential model that Bill endeavors to bring to other who are building and leading their Super performance work environment. To improve his skill base in interpersonal skills, he has become certified in the application of the Myers-Briggs [personality] Type Indicator (CPP) and certification as a Business Coach (Certified Coaching Federation).

Very grateful for the gifts and help received, Bill strives to pay it forward. His volunteer activity has included Memorial Hermann Hospitals, Boys Club (Board), United Way (Loaned Executive), and Scouting (Cubmaster).
